Tim Smith Served Subpoena !
A Detective for the Broward County State's Attorney office came knocking this morning. He handed me a mandatory subpoena to testify as a witness next week.
My testimony is required in the investigation into Fort Lauderdale City Commissioner Cindi Hutchinson's purported illegal use of public funds for her Campaign for Mayor. According to the State Attorney's office, an investigation has officially started.
Here is a copy of the subpoena!
The Detective/Investigator had called me first to ask me where I could be found, so he could serve me with a subpoena. Not knowing what the subpoena was all about, and as is human nature, I first thought I telling him I was in Timbuktu, and maybe he should call again in the Spring!
But my curiousity got the best of me and I asked: "what's the case?" When he told me it was the Commissioner Hutchinson postage matter, I was surprised. You see, I think the damage to Hutchinson and her political future is already done, and this can't do much more than rub salt in that wound.
But that's just my opinion....

good gosh! doesn't law enforcement have enough to do with real tough criminal matters than to have someone make them take time with this over and done mistake Cindi made? once a goose is cooked is it necessary to burn it too?

Pappy said never steal anything small; if you steal make it worth your while. Talk about not being worthwhile!! BUT, surely there must be bigger fish guilty of bigger infractions to fry. Folks are simply not looking hard enough.

I am glad an investigation is being done by the State Attorney for any Public Offical that breaks the public trust laws. Simply saying I am sorry just does not leave the incident proper. The standards must be kept high or more incidents like this one could occur again, and it puts to rest people like me that wonder is there more to this incident then Commissioner Hutchinson has admitted to.

Raymond, I am sure there is a bit more into this investigation than just the 50 or more campaign letters that Cindi mailed out from City Hall at the cost of us taxpayers.
Cindi might as well throw in the towel now to keep more embarrassment to her or her family.

Ahhh, what would attorneys do without Art?
On the other hand, how many brochures were mailed out and NOT returned?

From my understanding over 50 were mailed out, but only one got returned! To me it is a disgrace that a commissioner would use tax payers money for promote her campaign. Cindi is a done deal~ bye bye Mayor Hutchinson. (it is not going)
