All Candidates at Neighborhood Forum Tonight!

Been following the upcoming Fort Lauderdale City Elections?

If you have, and like being entertained by Political Theatre, tonight's Candidate Forum could be just the ticket!

It will take place at Fort Lauderdale City Hall, 100 North Andrews Ave. in the first floor Commission Chambers at  7:00 P.M.

It's being sponsored by the  Fort Lauderdale Council of Civic Associations,  a group of the City's neighborhoods and other Civic organizations.

All of the Candidates for the open Mayor's seat as well as the District Commissioner seats have been invited. That's 18 Candidates total.

You can expect a mostly civil engagement, as so far, most of the underhanded, dirty politics are taking place surreptitiously !

                                                                      See you there! .....       Tim

18 candidates. Give them 3 minutes to talk, and we have just spent one hour. Three minutes is not much time to talk if you are a politician.

I would like to see candidates that have been stealing their opponent's signs admit it and ask their toadies to stop.

We know that Seiler has been stealing the signs of Rynerson and Trantalis.

We know Teel has been stealing the signs of Garcia.

Let's see if anybody has the cohones to call them on this dirty deed, and ask them to stop!

We have asked Police Chief Adderley to bar Pio Ilaci, Marty Glazer and Mike Katz from the event since they were disrupuptive and dangerously stupid in their contrive appearance at the October Galt Mile event.

Seiler has won the prize for being the most arrogant, pompous ass with his discussion about serving several terms as Mayor.

How much did Judy Stern pay Brittany Wallman to smear Rynerson and suck up to Seiler?

A great event. After hearing the mantra repeatedly endlessly, of asking YES OR NO if the candidate will impose their personal morality opinions while in office-- a direct stab at Mayor Jim Naugle who was in the back of the room-- I began to get nauseated and confused...of course everyone had to answer the proper answer of NO, and they all did. But what human being should or could separate their decision making from their morals, their personal convictions? A zombie? And why should we make them answer such a narrow and robotic question? We want people in office with conviction, character, values, and yes, MORALS, and these are what they base their decisions on, even if they are contradictory to our own held beliefs. So, I believe the "mantra" was wrongly worded and the only sore spot of the meeting.

What's up with Rogers - layoffs, paycuts, firings, salary givebacks, out-sourcing....didn't he notice the city employees in the audience as he discussed their livelihood? Broad statements of that sort are not responsible and certainly don't build a relationship with employees who will need to the jobs and keep our city running. He speaks to his "experience" and ability to get it done beause of who he knows but this would certainly question that. I am sure that he believes he wants the job - I am not sure any longer that I would want him to have it.....
