Much More On Politics and Religion!
Remember when Mom advised - "please don't talk about politics or religion at the dinner table"?
She said it would ruin appetites, and lead to discussion, (or something only slightly resembling discussion!)
Well, she was right. It certainly does get the fur up! And the current manifestation of Mom's well known axiom is currently playing out in the District IV Fort Lauderdale Commissioner race.
It pits religious conservative Romney Rogers against liberal new-comer Coleman Prewitt. Last week, the Roger's campaign's "Prayer Coordinator" sent out an e-mail declaring that "God lifted His mighty hand and allowed Romney to receive the majority of the vote", in the primary. The e-mail goes on to plead with supporters to go to the polls on March 10th for the run-off election. It says that God could do His part, but the voters would have to do theirs!
I reported this on this blog and it drew a lot of attention, to say the least.
And this evening, an activist, District IV resident Cal Deal, has sent around his own comment on the matter, in graphic splendor.
But he sent me only a piece of his graphic comment.......... Here that is........

Who cares about Cal Deal? Cal Deal is just another loser with too much time to attack people like Cindi...poor Cal, now that Cindi didnt run, his life has been boring. Art Seitz, Cal Deal, Steve Glassman....all troublemakers in Fort Lauderdale. Please let them move to Boca...where they belong!

I am a christian woman,and was enamored with Romney when I learned he is a religious man.
I was ready to cast my vote for him until I learned that he and his "flock" had actually Prayed for votes!
My faith tells me that I should be praying for the sick and down-trodden, not for personal gain.
Shame on you Romney,and others for being selfish- not a good virtue in my book-or His......

As a member of FBC, most fellow members see this as a crusade against the homosexual candidate. This is our moral obligation to remove sin from the eyes of our children. Yes, it is right to pray for the rightous and against the sinner. We need a FULL majority of Christian leaders like Romney, Christine Teel and Jack Seiler to take our community back. God Blessed our city with Naugle and we will truly be blessed with Romney at the table.

Bigot - who annointed you? FBC is only one church in town and frankly most Baptist would be offended by your statement. Government is not about being "blessed" but about hard work for all of the people in our city....not just FBC. You actually make religion look bad and as a christian it pains me to say that. Use your zeal in doing for others not trying to separate, divide and condemn....you are not annointed....nor is Rogers, T eel or Seiler - of course Teel and Seiler never made such a claim nor did they ever go down the path you are trying to push this. They are inclusive rather than bigotted as you and your candidate seem to be. Too bad.

FYI, LOW ROADER GLASSMAN’S, RIGHT ARM, CBA SECRETARY, JOE PANICO, CORTEZ EMPLOYEE, DEVELOPER’S TOOL AND MORTAGE BROKER HAS RESIGNED FROM THE CENTRAL BEACH ALLIANCE.
PAYBACK TIME PART II: 2008 SHORE CLUB CONDO PRESIDENT/DICTATOR/KING STEVEN GLASSMAN WAS NOMINATED,EARLIER THIS MONTH FOR REELECTION AS 2009 SHORE CLUB CONDOMINIUM PRESIDENT LAST WEEK, NOT A SINGLE BOARD MEMBER WAS WILLING TO SECOND THE MOTION.
ANOTHER BOARD MEMBER, DAVID RADISH, WHO USED TO BE A GLASSMAN SUPPORTER, WHO IS NO LONGER A SUPPORTER (AN UNDERSTATEMENT) WAS NOMINATED, SECONDED, AND WITH NO OBJECTIONS, UNANIMOUSLY, ELECTED PRESIDENT.
IT WAS “GOOD-BYE GLASSMAN” WITHOUT AS MUCH AS A THANK YOU FROM ANY MEMBER OF THE BOARD. GLASSMAN, WHO APPEARED TO BE IN SHOCK, EXITED WITHOUT HAVING UTTERED A WORD DURING THE TWO-HOUR MEETING.

Steve has moved on... in fact, he is on a cruise right now.

Romney was quoted in the Miami Herald as follows: "Rogers chuckled at the parody.
"I wish my body looked like that,'' he said"
Guess he was okay with the alteration of the picture, however, we are just not okay with the message or what it might imply. "Campaign Prayer committee" - "Annointed" - not in government please.

Steve did not run again for the Shoreclub board. He was however re-elected as president of the CBA. His campaign was uplifiting and positive.
Shame you didn't come to one of Steve's events... they were alot of fun and full of good people.
Atleast Glassman's team did not send packages with dirty underwear to known Rodstrom supporters.

At the end of the candidate forum the other month, Romney quoted scripture to me. He said, "As the good book says... it is always darkest before dawn." I had to then remind him that it was Winston Churchill that stated that in an address to uplift the Britons during the London Air Raids. He then walked away feeling dumb.

Let's see the CBA is very important because: It's President couldn't even carry ONE precinct on the beach! The CBA is dead under Glassman's rule and everyone know's it...now the whole city FINALLY knows that the CBA does not represent the beach!
