Chief Adderley Cleared
Fort Lauderdale's Office of Professional Standards has cleared Fort Lauderdale's Police Chief Frank Adderley of wrong doing, in relation to the accident involving Scott Rothstein friend Moe Sohail.

Chief Adderley
An investigation was started after a picture emerged showing Adderley standing with convicted swindler Rothstein on the sidelines of the violent August crash.

The investigation concluded that there was " no evidence of misconduct on the part of Chief Adderley" in relation to the accident scene.
Adderley admits he got a call from Rothstein informing him that their mutual friend, cigar shop owner Moe Sohail had been involved in a crash on NE 3rd Ave. in Fort Lauderdale. Adderley testified that he had been just blocks away and arrived at the scene quickly, concerned about his friend.
Thirty three witnesses were questioned including 15 Public Safety personnel and other bystanders and none testified that Adderley "interfered or directed" the accident investigation.
One unsolved question is the report from Fire Lt. Connor that testified seeing "upwards of a half dozen stacks of cash" on the passenger floor of the crashed Bentley. Conner reported seeing Sohail pick up the cash and put it in a white bag. No other witness reported seeing the cash, though reports verified that the Bentley had left a bank prior to the crash.
Adderley says he was "confident" that he would be cleared in the crash investigation, as he had "done nothing wrong".

I had all the "Faith" that Frank would be cleared of any wrong doing.

OK I am an idiot, can someone explain to me, why the city paid for an investigation of the Chief, took statements, had accident investigations jump thru hoops, paid for depos, etc. went thru the song, dance and expenses and publicity...only to Have the State "FDLE" come in and start over again? IF FDLE has the power to re-open an investigation and overturn the original findings that already didnt pass the smell test, expend man hours, and start all over again,(at a higher rate) why as a resident did I pay for the investigation by Ft. Lauderdale in the first place? Does anyone other than me, picture a cat chasing his tail on my dime? Oh and "Trixie" if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, sweetie its a duck. If you and I had pulled the same crap, I doubt you would be so forgiving. The woman driving the Bently already had one DUI under her belt, considering the circumstances dont you think it would have been prudent for Police officers to have done a breathalizer instead of making the comment "we didnt smell anything"? They threw the other driver under the bus becase Adderley showed undue influence over the accident scene in favor of Rothsteins friend. Adderley should have never embroiled himself in this, and quite frankly his poor judgement and those of his officers have now increased the TAB on this little diddy ten fold..This is a blatant waste of taxpayer dollars and some of you are going to have to stop "blindly" following those who are laughing behind your backs.

Fort Lauderdale - The City of Fort Lauderdale has been awarded a $3.2 million federal grant that will enable the Police Department to hire 12 additional police officers.
The grant is part of the U.S. Department of Justice Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Hiring Recovery Program (CHRP), an initiative funded by President Barack Obama’s American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

Inas much as I hate to admit it "Adderley" is at it again. Trying to make a "mink coat" out of a "rats tail" with the high profile case of Child killer Gary D, Kerpan who "resides" in Stranahan Park. The above post $3.2 million in grant money for more officers isnt going to put a dent in the ineptness of Chief Adderleys department. Police officers take their cues from strong leadership and intense management styles. We have none of that with this department..the old adage "we do have good people, under a bad system" comes into play here. It doesnt matter how much money you throw at a problem, if you keep doing the same thing expecting a different result, then there is a problem. Adderley is a problem and this city needs to cut the head off of it and start over with a Chief who has more smarts, better management style and a shorter leash on his department..
