A search committee has selected four finalists to be considered for Scottsdale city manager.
Finalists include Acting City Manager David Richert and three out-of-state candidates.
The City Manager Recruitment Ad Hoc Committee narrowed the field to four after interviewing eight candidates last week and receiving 50 applications for the job.
The finalists are:
• George Gretsas
Gretsas is city manager of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Located between Miami and Palm Beach, the city has a strong tourism-based economy. The city has a population of 180,000 with a $600 million budget and a staff of 2,600.

I'll make a similar comment here to the one I posted on the Sun-Sentinel Blog, I have been a supporter of Mr. Gretsas. He is a professional who is leaving. Many of you have asked for more "civility" in government. Why say things about Mr. Gretsas now? Maybe some of you should practice what you speak.

A lot of wonderful people in Lauderdale have been kind & civil to G. I encourage him to continue his career... elsewhere. Maybe he will invite you to visit him... I know that Scottsdale is a lovely place.

Actually Gorge does not belong in any city being a "city manager."
He screwed our beautiful city, how many more is he going do in his life time?
When is this all going to stop ~ George you are only capale to be a "bag boy" in a grocery story & nothing else.
