More Campaign Sign Mayhem!
I'd like to outlaw campaign signs!
They bring out the worst in some campaigns, and their supporters, and often lay around junking up the scenery for months after every election!
Here's the latest foul play .......

Kevin Buckley is one of our premier shopping center developers.

He is a mellow guy, been around a long time, but today he's mad as a hornet.
This is his unwanted campaign sign story -
....." So Tim, I drove past one of my shopping centers, Barnes and Nobles, and out front was this big.....

...... Now, I didn't give this Rynerson character permission to put this sign up, he never called or wrote to ask!.... and to make matters worse, I had gotten 3 Robo campaign phone calls from his campaign over the last three nights - at dinner time!
..... Anyhow, I decided to call his campaign and ask him to come and take the sign down, give him a chance to do the right thing... but after 3 calls and no return calls, my blood began to boil....
...... I grabbed my wife and we went right over and took the sign down ourselves !..... and now, I'm filing a complaint with the State Elections Board....
...... And ...... just to make sure this Rynerson feels the pain, I added this"

Good for Kevin! At one time I was a Rynerson supporter and attended a fund raiser in his home. As I got to know more about him and read his blogs, I soon realized this guy doesn't have a clue. He consistently puts out distorted half truths in his email blasts. I got so disgusted I wanted to be removed from his list but I decided to stay on just to see what kind of BS he comes up with next. He never disappoints!

Earl does not understand that leadership is exhibited by playing by the rules.
Earl's signs are in violation of election law since a non partisan candidate cannot use the word "republican" in any materials
Earl violates property rights of Fort Lauderdale citizens by placing signs on properties with out permission.
Earl fails to list campaign expenses he paid for on his campaign disclosure. Tim, remember the big african american security guard in the parking lot of Artserv at the first rally. Artserv said they dont provide security guards and earl paid for it himself.
Earl violated campaign laws for months failing to put a proper campaign disclaimer on his websites.
Earl was subject to an ethics investigation from the last campaign for forcing his employees to campaign for him or lose a days pay and even their job.
Besides this, Earl who held himself out as a proud member of the gay coummunity in 09 now hides this fact trying to proclaim his is a conservative republican.
He cost the city tens of thousands of dollars running his sham candidate Crimi for an extra election.
One cannot be a leader while cheating, lying and trying to decieve others.

Ya gotta wonder, is the reason Buckley is gonna vote for Jack is because Of the "sign issue"???

well actually "are you kidding?" I have trouble seeing the point of your post. I have known Jack for 20 plus years just as I have known Tim that long. I am basically A political at this point in my life but I supported Tim I now support Jack. I wouldnt know Earl Rynerson if he bit me, though I am annoyed by the robo calls and people littering my property without permission. You can make it more complicated than that if you want but its pretty simple, I have voted in every City election for as long as I can remember and have 20 yrs of public service in this community - ask around. 10 yrs pres of Bal Harbor Homeowners Association, 10 yrs on P&Z - five as chairman. Just so we all the score here. I am paid up in the civic duty arena & by the way I dont need to post with an alias.

I am Charles Stuart of American Political Signs in Hollywood, Florida. For over forty years, we have been involved in providing campaign services to hundreds of judicial and county candidates. In this capacity, we have had the opportunity to observe the personality, demeanor and temperament of the candidtes during what is probably one of the most stressful times of their professional careers.
The campaign trail can bring out the best, and indeed the worst in anyone. This Fort Lauderdale campaign has become a difficult race, not for the candidates as much as their staff and volunteers. I would never even reply to these blogs, as I feel they are just that "A BLOG", that is just "hearsay" ... BUT I wanted to let these readers know that we are responsible for that sign and if the owner of the property wanted to get in touch with us, our name is on EVERY SIGN and our crew goes out and removes and maintains each one of our signs. That one was erroneously put up by one of our new workers, who is just that, trying to make a living and has nothing to do with the candidates.
As for the people who feel campaign signs should be banned is because candidates who take the time to put the signs up themselves to save money and waste time often loose their campaigns and then leave the signs around our city. Campaign signs are part of our history and our freedom of speech. A candidate without a sign is a sign of no candidate. Our signs are maintained by us so they always look good, and taken down after the election.

thank you Charles for being so forthright. I will call you in the moring to confirm whether you were the company that installed the sign, if so I will tell where you can find what remains of the sign and dispose of it properly.
